UA, SLSU renew partnership through MOU
University of Antique through Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., University President, renewed the agreement with Southern Leyte State University represented by Dr. Jude A. Duarte, SLSU President, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on August 25 through Zoom.
While working together to promote mutual cooperation and understanding, the two institutions also look forward to conducting collaborative activities in academic fields of shared interest through faculty, students, and researchers exchange, immersion and internship programs, benchmarking and sharing of best practices, co-sponsorship of trainings, webinars, seminars, and research collaborations.
Dr. Crespo on his message, cited the words of Dr. J. Prospero De Vera III, Chairperson of Commission on Higher Education, to not forget to ink collaboration with fellow Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the country. He also extended his hope that the collaboration will make the two academes better collaborators, State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and friends.
Dr. Duarte, on the other hand, extended his thanks to University of Antique for the trust and confidence and shared his aspiration to conduct activities that can be jointly enacted.
“We are so distance apart, and yet we managed to come up with an agreement between two universities. That alone is a good thing for SLSU,” Dr. Duarte further stated.
Through the MOU signing which was graced by the Vice-presidents of the two Universities and with Prof. Ingrid M. Uy, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs of SLSU, and Prof. Jennelyn A. Omadio, Director of International Affairs of UA, as witnesses, SLSU continues to be UA’s counterpart in nurturing collaborative endeavors for the betterment of the two academes./IAP
