Today, the University of Antique (UA) and the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) join hands through signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at UA Board Room, May 20, 2024.

Mr. Kenneth C. Siruelo, OIC for Policy, Advocacy, and Technical Services Division, and Mr. Jeffrey N. Alzaman, Volunteer Service Officer II, represented PNVSCA while UA is represented by its three Vice-presidents: Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Nelly E. Mistio, VP for Administration and Finance, and Dr. May T. Delgado, VP for Research, Extension, and Innovation.

The partnership allows both institutions to collaborate in mainstreaming volunteerism in the academe; create Volunteerism Office in UA; Implement Volunteerism-related activities; Promote and advocate volunteerism; build volunteerism statistics; Conduct volunteerism related researches or studies, and help in mainstreaming volunteerism in focal office.

UA is the first State University in Western Visayas to partner with PNVSCA, which is a government agency mandated to promote volunteerism as a development strategy and coordinate volunteer programs and activities in the Philippines. Right now, the Agency have more than 40 MOUs with various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) around the country.
