The flourishing collaboration continues as University of Antique (UA) once again sealed a collaboration with Wadhwani Foundation, this time for a two-day “Training of Trainers” via Zoom that started today, April 22, 2025 at the iLab, Main Campus.

The training aims to capacitate and develop the ‘Trainers’ who are faculty members of the university, to be able to train the ‘Learners’ who are the students, using eContent provided by Wadhwani Foundation.

Dr. Catherine C. Viesca, Vice President for Academic Affairs on her welcome remarks expressed her excitement to share the journey of building employability and upskilling with a group of passionate educators and industry professionals which happen to align perfectly with UA’s vision of becoming a premier university in transforming lives and building sustainable and resilient communities.

“The initiative is more than just a training. It’s actually a movement to build capacity to transform you our dear faculty into educators, into enablers, and to ultimately create a multiplier effect across our communities. The Wadhwani’s mission of accelerating job creation and enabling entrepreneurship aligns perfectly with what we hope to achieve here and that is nurturing trainers who can inspire, guide, and shape the future workforce”, she further stated.

Dr. Pablo S. Crespo, Jr., University President emphasized the importance of knowing by heart the program, its relevance, and immersing on the activity itself.

“…But let us first start with ourselves… Again, only those faculty who believe on the benefits of this program will really guide the students in making sure that they capitalize on this kind of service the Wadhwani Foundation is offering the students of the University of Antique”, he added.

It can be recalled that two institutions first worked together in May last year. Wadhwani on the other hand, had long been partnering with organizations, government agencies, and universities by providing programs that assist individuals improve their soft skills, employability skills, and entrepreneurial skills since 2018.
