UA conducts Earthquake and Fire Drill
University of Antique conducts Earthquake and Fire Mock Drill as part of the University safety and security plan and to strengthen its Risk Reduction Management System on March 10, 3:30 PM.
In compliance with CHEDRO 6 Memorandum 091 Series of 2018 and RA 10121, “An Act Strengthening the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management System,” Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., University President, served as Emergency Director and led the “Operation Luwas” which is geared towards saving or rescuing.
Mr. Japhet V. Quiape, Director of Civil Security Services Unit, stated how important the drills are for the University especially that the institution deals with a lot of students.
“…because of these drills prepared kita, malikawan naton ang mga daragkul or malubha nga mga casualties when it comes to these kinds of calamities,” Mr. Quiape further stated. (Because of these drills, we would be prepared and we could avoid severe casualties when it comes to these kinds of calamities)
Personnel from Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), and Philippine National Police (PNP) also participated, observed, and gave feedback on how the University could improve their preparedness plan and communication protocol./IAP
