The different programs under the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) undergo evaluation by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) National Quality Assessment Team (NQuAT) starting today, June 19 to 20, 2024.
Dr. Peter Ureta, Team Leader and Technical Committee for Civil Engineering Chair, stated that the team visited UA to help the Engineering programs improve and aid the academe on its quest to offer its own brand of quality engineering education in the province.
“We have to leave a legacy that no foreigners should look down on us in terms of engineering… we would really want to help in Philippine Engineering Education,” Dr. Ureta further stated.
Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr. recognized how arduous it is to maintain engineering programs yet he expressed his joy that UA has these programs so that Antiqueños would no longer go and spend too much money outside the province to take an engineering course.
“Maintaining an engineering program is not easy… we have to satisfy the standards set by international convention because our program is covered by the international convention and of course by the standards set by our regulatory bodies particularly by the Commission on Higher Education,” he added.
Dr. Ureta together with the rest of the team will examine the compliance of each engineering program to the minimum requirements set by CHED.
