CAS, CCJE, and ANS sign MOA to bolster partnership

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology under College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and Bachelor of Science in Criminology of College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) launch their Extension Program on Community-based Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Program with Antique National School (ANS) through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing at Antique Trade Tourism and Promotion Center, February 7.

Anchored to the University’s mission which is to undertake extension services, Dr. Loyalda T. Bolivar,

Director of External Affairs, Dr. Marie Ann J. Raymaro, Director of Extension Services Unit, Dr. Cecilia O. Salvilla, Dean of CAS, Dr. Elden John D. Aurillo, Dean of CCJE, together with CAS Extension Coordinator, Extension Proponents, and Psychology and Criminology students represented UA during the signing. Mr. Roger A. Jomolo, Principal IV of ANS, together with ANS PTA Chairperson, Vice-chairperson and Secretary represented ANS.

The Extension program of CAS and CCJE will be composed of two projects: the Helping the Helpers and Capacity Building Program for Mental Health Providers, and the Pag-amlig Program.

According to Dr. Kristoffer Ryan T. Gidaya, Guidance Counselor of the University, the first program will focus on capacitating classroom teachers, peer facilitators, and advisers so that they will be able to detect students with mental health concerns, at the same time identifying students who have manifestations of juvenile delinquency.

“The highlight of the second project is for licensed mental health professionals or psychologists to offer psychological services sa mga clients ni ANS nga irefer ka anda Guidance Office,” Dr. Gidaya further stated.

The first project will commence next month and will last until June, while the second project will start on June and culminate in December./IAP
