Another partnership is sealed as University of Antique (UA) and Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology (ISUFST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) through the virtual signing held via Zoom platform today, August 29, 2024.

The University was represented by Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., UA President, while Dr. Nordy Siason, Jr., ISUFST President, signed in behalf of his academe.

Dr. Siason on his message expressed his gratefulness for the opportunity and support as he looked forward to have the newly partnered academes assist each other through the sharing of innovations and projects.

“As the newly converted university we hope that we can learn a lot from University of Antique knowing that the only university in the Province of Antique is UA so therefore I know that you have all the resources and laboratories…” Dr. Siason further stated.

Dr. Crespo on the other hand commended the ISUFST stating that their Fisheries program is a center of development and the academe is also leading the fisheries education in the region.

“…definitely our campus in Tibiao, which is our center of fisheries education, can really learn a lot from you,” Dr. Crespo added.

Also present during the MOU signing are Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, UA’s Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Catherine C. Viesca, Executive Director for Academics of UA, Dr. Porferio S. Bangcaya, Campus Director of UA Tario Lim Memorial Campus (UA TLMC), Prof. April Rose B. Mendoza, OIC Dean, College of Fisheries of UA-TLMC, Dr. Jeanette Bayona, Director of International Affairs and Linkages of ISUFST, Mrs. Jennelyn A. Omadio, Director of International Affairs Unit of UA, and Ms. Roxanne Joy Melocotones, IZN Coordinator of UA-TLMC.

The newly-formed partnership between these two academes also equates to sharing of resources that will contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the development of global citizens of both UA and the ISUFST.
