University of Antique honors the women members of the Kasubay community as it renews its commitment and support to advocating and embracing equality, on the opening program held at Paghi-UsA Hall today, March 10, 2025.

Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., UA President, on his message urged the women to go beyond and challenge the various stereotypes that limits and constrains their progress. He also emphasized the importance of being strong as women’s challenges are doubly daunting compared to those faced by men.

Women, when somebody would tell you “Hanggang jan ka lang,” raise your head up high and say, “I could achieve what I wanted to achieve,” he further stated.

Dr. Rowena S. Cabrillos, Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Person, reaffirmed the academe’s commitment in supporting and helping in building a Bagong Pilipinas, a nation where women have equitable opportunities, free from gender biases, and discriminatory stereotypes, and in making sure that opportunities and progress will reach all women especially those who came from underrepresented communities and marginalized sectors.

Flowers were also given to the women faculty and staff of the academe by the GAD Unit that spearheads the event in celebration of National Women’s Month.
