Transcending borders, the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) conducted a symposium on Cybersecurity in the Digital Age: Threats, Trends, and Solutions with distinguished lecturer from Taiwan, Dr. Tsung Han Wu, Assistant Research Fellow at the Division of Cyber Security and Decision-Making Simulation, Institute for National Defense and Security Research, and Maj. Gaylord G. Celiz PN (M), Security Intelligence Officer with the RHAC, HSSG, Philippine Marine Corps, at Paghi-UsA Hall on February 12, 2025.

The symposium gathered the fourth year Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BS Crim) and third year BS Industrial Security Management (BS ISM) students as Dr. Wu lectured on the Cybersecurity and Crime Prevention specifically on its current state, challenges, and the responses that Taiwan undertakes. Maj. Celiz on the other hand discussed the Protective Security Operation, emphasizing its importance to the participants’ daily life especially on ensuring that their families are secured.

Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., UA President, on his message congratulated CCJE for this milestone as it is the first time for the College to conduct a symposium with international speakers. He also emphasized how significant the symposium is especially that anyone can be threatened by attacks in social media.
