Still heeding to the call to commit to environmental sustainability, University of Antique, together with several government agencies in the Province of Antique, planted bamboo tinik propagules at Brgy. Tubudan, San Remigio, Antique in celebration of the World Bamboo Day, September 18, 2024.

Dr. Nelly E. Mistio, Consultant of the Bamboo Center, together with Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, Vice-President for Research, Extension, and Innovation (REI) and Mr. Evaristo S. Villaflor, Supply Officer III, led the Kasubays during the planting at the site where the 2M Bambusetum is located.

According to Dr. Mistio, the academe is planning to plant 70 giant bamboos as they look forward to plant 32 species of bamboo at the Bambusetum.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Office of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer, Provincial Planning and Development Office, RM Bamboo Association, together with Kasubay student leaders, Criminology Intern Unit Officers, and College of Industrial Technology students who are taking bamboo technology also took part in the said activity.
