UA continues to strengthen its linkage to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) inside and outside the country as it successfully concluded the Kinaray-a Kumperensiya 2024, HantiQuest: Latu sa Pananaliksik, a Hyflex International Research Conference, in partnership with Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) and Sejong University, last May 20.

Dr. Seul Ki Lee, Associate Professor, College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Director of the Tourism Industry Data Analytics Lab (TIDAL) of Sejong University, Dr. Ian Sutherland, Professor and Researcher from Kyung-in Women’s University, Prof. Julie Pineda, of Sejong University, Assoc. Prof. Yolanda T. Montances, Chairperson of the Department of Tourism and Transportation, and Associate Professor at Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and Dr. May T. Delgado, Vice-president of Research, Extension, and Innovation of UA, served as Resource Speakers and imparted the necessary knowledge regarding the tourism and hospitality industry.

Forty-three (43) third year PUP students from the College of Tourism, Hospitality, and Transportation Management, who served as the main organizers of the event, also graced the University.
Assoc. Prof. Montances underscored that the activity aims to provide a platform for researchers to share their groundbreaking discoveries, exchange ideas, inspire future generation of scholars, in order to create a better world through research.

“It is a milestone because this is the first time that our department will be doing something like this. This is an honor not only to me but the entirety of the PUP community,” she added.

The conference was participated by students from College of Business and Accountancy, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Computer Science, and College of Engineering and Architecture. Faculty and students from other HEIs in the country also joined through zoom.
