UA launches campaign to End VAWC

University of Antique through Gender and Development (GAD) Office held a launching event in support to the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) during the flag raising ceremony at the Traditional Knowledge center today, November 28.

The campaign which runs from November 25-December 12 aims to raise awareness that VAWC is a public issue of national concern and empower the stakeholders to know their rights, speak up, respect women and any individual regardless of their gender and gender orientation, and support the Anti-VAWC efforts of the government and the immediate community.

Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr, considered the activity as a venue to raise awareness to its stakeholders that UA shall strive to be a safe space for women and children as they study and grow in the University of Antique.

“Let all Kasubays, be persons who are respectful of women, who are protective of the children, after all we Kasubays were raised and loved by our respective mothers. Let’s make UA a VAWC free University.” Dr. Crespo added.

The GAD also prepared activities such as Infographic Design Contest and Symposium for selected graduating students./IU
