UA’s extension poster places 2nd on 12th PEARS

University of Antique’s extension poster titled “Helping the Helpers: A Capacity-Building Program for Mental health Providers in Community and Schools” clinched second runner -up in poster presentation during the 12th Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Region VI EMC Annual Regional Symposium (PEARS) at Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City, November 15-17.

The Helping the Helpers project authored by Prof. Rama Lo R. Amedo, Dr. Kristoffer Ryan T. Gidaya, and Prof. Jan Armel P. Amedo is part of the University’s Community-based Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Program with Antique National School (ANS) that featured capacity-building activities that will capacitate classroom teachers, peer facilitators, advisers, and students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes on how to deal with and manage mental health concerns.

The 12th PEARS, with the theme “SUCs Leading the Way: Bridging Communities for Sustainable Futures,” was organized by PASUC VI Extension Managers Inc. to foster collaboration with SUCs and significantly contribute towards the fulfilment of the region’s development potential, as well as, respond to the challenges in achieving the aspirations of Filipinos by 2040 or Ambisyon Natin 2040./IU
