Guidance Office gear up volunteers through Peer Facilitators’ Training

To ensure the delivery of social and emotional peer support services, the University Guidance Center conducted a Peer Facilitators’ Training to student volunteers at the Guidance Office, November 9-10.

The activity aims to let the students identify their roles as peer facilitators, equip them with communication and facilitation skills in handling socio-emotional concerns of fellow students, and be able to acquire working knowledge on mental health and well-being.

Continuing peer facilitators underwent a psychological first aid training while new peer facilitators were equipped with knowledge and understanding of their roles as peer facilitators, and given basic training to hone their facilitation skills.

These peer facilitators will serve as crucial extension of the guidance center’s commitment to promoting mental health and well-being to their fellow Kasubays./IU
