Creating Int’l Milestone: UA-DU holds f2f STEAM Camp

After two successful online collaborations, University of Antique and Daegu University, South Korea went beyond the virtual space with face-to-face UA-DU Learnatory: Strengthening Practical Experience through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Culture, and Mathematics (STEAM) Camp, August 9-17.

The two-week camp features activities and games facilitated by DU Avengers and UA Antbassadors that benefited the four Department of Education (DepEd) schools in the province: Juan Vego Elementary School, Sibalom Central Elementary School, Lacaron Elementary School, and Sido – San Juan Elementary School.

Dr. Jeongho “Daniel” Cha, Team Leader and faculty from Daegu University extended his gratitude to UA saying. “I love your energetic endeavor for collaboration with the delegates from South Korea, our seniors, (and) how beautiful you collaborate to Daegu University young generation. Together it was such a nice, fabulous collaboration I have seen so far.”

Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, Vice-president for Academic Affairs of UA, acknowledged the efforts of DU Avengers to observe the Filipino educational system and make a difference in the chosen schools.

“You came to teach STEAM but for all you know, you have taught more than that. You have taught our children to dream big for themselves,” Dr. Alentajan further stated.

This year’s STEAM Camp marks the third year of successful collaboration between the two institutions./IAP
