DPO conducts PIA

University of Antique through Data Privacy Office (DPO) conducts a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) to assess the potential impacts on privacy of initiatives that process personal information and take action to treat privacy risks, at Busalian Hall, August 9.
 
Dr. Sammy V. Militante, Director, Statistical and Knowledge Management Center, enriched the participants with information about topics that include PIA and Privacy by Design, Privacy Risk Rating and Mapping, Approaches to Risk management, and PIA Process.
 
According to Prof. Catherine C. Viesca, Campus Director of UA Main, “the activity is a manifestation that the University is true to its commitment to uphold respect and value data privacy rights in compliance with the RA 10173 or the data Privacy Act of 2012.”
 
Engr. Nelly E. Mistio, Vice President for Administration and Finance, also highlighted that the PIA paves the way for the academe to comply with the statutory and regulatory requirements as well as provide quality services that will satisfy its clientele.
 
The activity was participated by Heads of Units, Representatives from Hamtic Campus and Tibiao Campus, and UA personnel./IAP
