CTE celebrates Students’ Academic Organization Day

University of Antique Tario-Lim Memorial Campus (UA-TLMC) College of Teacher Education (CTE) held its first ever Students’ Academic Organization Day at UA-TLMC Auditorium, June 13-14.

The two-day activity was participated by five acknowledged student organizations under CTE namely, The UA Linguaphiles Association, Biological Society, CalGeoTriStat Society, Gen Ed Nation, and the Social Science Society (handUrAw).

Mr. Darius E. Montaño, Acting Guidance Counselor of UA-TLMC, on his discussion on the topic “Strengthening Students Adaptive and Coping Skills in Balancing Personal and Academic Life”, reminded the students to prioritize what really matters to find their own balance.

“You are what you think you are,” Mr. Montaño said. “Do not think too lowly of yourself. I am a teacher; I have dignity, I have integrity, I can be somebody in the future and I can make a difference. You have to claim that. Self-affirmation is very important, every day, affirm yourself.”

Moreover, Dr. Aldrex A. Barrientos, Dean of CTE, discussed the Department of Education (DepEd) Hiring Guidelines (Teacher I Ranking) Process 2022-2023 so that the participants will have an idea of the life awaiting for them after graduating and passing the board examination.

The activity ended with the organizations competing in different contest categories such as: Quiz Bee (board exam questions), Spelling Bee, Pronunciation Contest, and the Lesson Plan Making. /The Sea Breeze – IAP
