UP Diliman CSSP conducts Academic Visit to UA

University of the Philippines Diliman College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP) conducts a Seminar on Teaching of General Education (GE) Courses as part of their Academic Visit at the University of Antique, April 20.

According to Dr. Darlene Occeña-Gutierrez, Associate Dean for Administration and External Affairs, Professor, Department of Geography of UP Diliman, the academic visit is part of an outreach program to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the CSSP through reaching out to the different state universities and colleges all over the country.

Dr. Catherine Viesca, Campus Director of UA Main Campus, stated that it is such an honor for UA to partner with UP Diliman in this endeavor, saying “We are so lucky that this partnership with our Kasubay from University of the Philippines will provide us opportunity as we learn valuable insights from our speakers, the knowledge, experiences, and the best practices that they can share with us.”

Among the topics discussed by the resource speakers during the seminar that was attended by faculty from Social Science and those handling Research of University of Antique System, were The Teaching of Ethics, Anthropological Research Methods, and Mapping Methods in Geographic Research. 

The team is bound to have a Campus Tour in the UA’s KKK Center (Kuron, Kawayan, Karan-un) as well as visit Tibiao Campus and other campuses and research sites./IAP
