University of Antique turns over 706 Improvised Oil Spill Booms (IOSB) to the Philippine Coast Guard at UA Traditional Knowledge Center (Covered Court), March 30.

The University and Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., President of UA, were also given a certificate of appreciation for supporting the IOSB Making project which was initiated by 606th Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary Squadron (606th CGAS) and supported by the Philippine Coast Guard Station (CGS Antique).

Together with the members of the Philippine Coast Guard, present during the turnover is SP Pio Jessielito Sumande Sr., Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member of the Province of Antique.

The IOSB were made by students to help alleviate the environmental problem posed by the oil spill in Oriental Mindoro./IAP
