
Congratulations to Asst. Prof. Jessebel V. Gadot, Ms. Melissa Suganob, and Ms. Danica Marie B. Aposaga for successfully presenting their researches during the 16th International Conference on Environmental and Rural Development (ICERD) at Tokyo University of Agriculture, Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan, last March 13-16, 2025.
Asst. Prof. Gadot shared her findings on “Humic Acid Characterization as a Potential Green Fertilizer.” Ms. Aposaga on the other hand explored the potential of “Watermelon Peels and Rinds as a Food Preservative and Additive in Pork Longganisa (Sausage)” and Ms. Suganob presented the “Assessment of Communities to Climate Variabilities and Extremes in Cangaranan Watershed, Antique, Philippines.” Asst. Prof. Gadot and Ms. Aposaga’s presentation in the conference were funded by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) while Ms. Suganob is funded partly by the University of Antique.
The 16th ICERD gathered researchers from different countries around the globe to discuss innovative approaches on education for sustainable development, rural development, environmental management, agricultural systems and food innovation, and infrastructural systems in order to enhance community resilience, and strategies for building sustainability against climate risks.
