Today, as we commemorate the 39th Anniversary of the February 25, 1986, EDSA People Power Revolution, we pay tribute and honor to the courageous spirit of the Filipino people, whose bravery demonstrated the power of peaceful resistance, ensuring the triumph of democracy over dictatorship. We also remember those whose lives were claimed while fighting for our country’s freedom – the victims of the Martial Law, the Journalists and Student Leaders who tried to speak their truth.

May we look back to our history and be inspired to continue upholding the principles of democracy by protecting our nation’s freedom and the rights and dignity of all Filipinos.
