The accreditation taskforce of University of Antique system gathered at Busalian Hall for the AACCUP Level IV Survey Seminar Workshop: Guidelines, Mechanics, and Experiences with esteemed speakers and accreditation experts from West Visayas State University (WVSU), February 18-19, 2025.
Dr. Alona M. Belarga, Director of Instruction, and Dr. Elizabeth A. Magallanes, Director of Quality Assurance, graced the university to share their expertise and experience in achieving the Level IV which ensures that the programs are aligned to the prescribed standards.
Dr. Belarga on her lecture stated that having a level IV program means that this program is comparable and competitive with other programs, not only in the Philippines but also abroad.
“It’s the work of the team… It must be a concerted effort of everybody because the program is owned not only of the department, not only by the college, but by the University, and the university is of course giving us our bread and butter,” she further stated.
Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, Vice-president for Research, Extension, and Innovation (REI), also put emphasis on the three important things that the task force needs to succeed in the accreditation – credit, edit, and action which is the start and end of the accreditation.
“Level IV is just ahead of us and that we can reach them; in getting there we will be brave to submit our programs for Level IV accreditation,” VP Alentajan added.
The activity is a form of UA’s reaffirmation of its commitment to quality assurance as it continuously strives to align each program to meet the global standards through program accreditation.
