For the first time since its conversion as a university, University of Antique will confer the degree of Doctor of Humanities (honoris causa) to the Honorable Senator Lorna Regina B. Legarda on the 74th Commencement Exercises for the 1st Semester of Academic Year 2024-2025.

This honorary degree is a testament to individuals who have made remarkable contributions to society and their fields of expertise.

Senator Legarda’s unwavering legislative agenda and advocacy for advancement of education, cultural preservation, environmental conservation, language studies, women empowerment, and the promotion of livelihood—especially that of micro, small, and medium enterprises—have significantly uplifted the lives of Antiqueños and Filipinos as a whole.

UA takes great pride in conferring this distinction to our Antiqueña Senator. Her achievements inspire the University to continue working towards becoming a premier university in transforming lives and building sustainable and resilient communities.
