On the ribbon cutting held today, July 8, at the SarayUAn (Students’ Center), Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., President of UA, stated that the establishment of the boutique is the academe’s way of aiding students who are facing difficulties despite the free tuition program.

“In order for the free tuition to work, dapat indi masayang, dapat wara it ma quit,” he further stated citing that shortage in food, allowance, and clothing is often the reason for the students to give up their dreams of finishing college.

The items at Taguipusuon Boutique were wholeheartedly donated by the members of the Kasubay community, spearheaded by Dr. Crespo. All the students need to do is exchange the item that they wish to avail of with canned goods and noodles. These food items will eventually be sold, and the money collected will be used for a once-a-week pakain program which will start on the first semester of S.Y. 2024 -2025. An area where the availed clothes could be altered is also provided.

Moreover, UA is targeting to add to the boutique’s collection, used school uniforms and paraphernalia that may be useful for incoming students.
