University of Antique is pleased to welcome C/E Herbert Sebastian Luistro Tan, General Manager, CMA Ships Philippines Inc., as Keynote Speaker for the College of Maritime Studies.

Tan is a Marine Engineering graduate of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy. He served as Assistant Crewing Manager at Pacific Ocean Manning, Inc. or V.Ships before he was promoted to Crewing Manager and Crew Operations Manager in 2013. He also headed the transfer of International Tanker Management (ITM) Fleet of 42 vessels during the acquisition of V.Group from NFD manning agency in Dec 2009. He was appointed as Branch Manager when V.Ships took over full-management of Overseas Ship holding Group (what is currently International Seaways, Inc) vessels in July 1, 2014. He also headed the transferring of 47 ships (mostly full-Filipino crew) in seamless manner.

During his 23 years with the company, Tan is recipient of various V.Ships Excellence Awards including the “Client Satisfaction” for 2013 and 2014, and “Contribution to Cross Company Working” in 2016. He is also a Member of the Board Director of V.Ships Oceania.

Adding to his wide range of experience, Tan served as Senior Crew Manager, Maersk Filipinas Crewing, Inc., and Operations Manager, Epsilon Maritime Services, Inc. He currently works as General Manager of CMA Ships Philippines Inc. based in Makati City.
