Two completed research projects that focus on clays and gemstones of the Province of Antique were presented by three Kasubay researchers during the 38th Philippine Chemistry Congress (38PCC) and 2024 International Conference on Chemistry (IC2) held at SMX Convention Center, Davao City, from July 22-24, 2024.
The two university-funded researches that were presented through poster presentation are Asst. Prof. Jessebel V. Gadot, and Engr. Sheryl S. Valera’s “Physico-spectrochemical characterization of Sibalom River valuable gemstones in Antique” and “Spectroscopic characterization of clays from Antique” which they also crafted alongside Ms. Valerie Joy T. Naviamos.
Aside from providing a venue for information dissemination, the conference also paved the way for researchers to establish collaborations and partner linkages in national and international agencies, enhance partnerships with suppliers, and gain new knowledge of the products that can improve performance and generate new ideas.
The conference, which gathered scientists and researchers with shared interest in chemistry and its application in various fields, also featured plenary lectures, parallel sessions, Consultation with Commission on Higher Education, and meeting with ICP Hands-on Workshops.
