The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) is true to its vision of bringing arts and culture closer to every Filipino, especially to the younger generation, as 149 Antiqueños took part in Rumorolyong Himig: Film Workshop and Himig Himbing at Ako: Creative Expression Workshop with renowned filmmaker, book author, ethnomusicologist, and visual artist as resource speakers, on the first day of Himig Himbing in Antique, September 27, 2024.
Book author Dr. Luis Gatmaitan, ethnomusicologist Sol Maris Trinidad, and visual artist Beth Parrocha provided the 99 participants in Creative Expression Workshop a one of a kind cultural experience as well as equip them with knowledge on self-expression and creativity through arts and music.
Cinemalaya Filmmaker, Mr. Jonathan Jurilla, also expressed the visual voice of a filmmaker on a basic filmmaking workshop, with 50 film enthusiasts as participants.
Participants also presented their outputs during the closing program held at Busalian Hall.
The Himig Himbing in Antique, which was made possible through CCP and National Commison for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in partnership with the Office of Senator Loren Legarda, and Cong. AA Legarda, will continue with Himig Himbing at Ako: Ang mga Ambahanun Natun Show tomorrow, September 28 at the Paghiusa Hall.
