𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Department of Science and Technology (DOST), in celebration of the Regional Science, Technology and Innovation Week in Western Visayas (RSTW), held a forum for Smart and Sustainable Solutions for Communities at the PAghi-UsA Hall, August 23, 2024.
The forum which was participated by Local Government Units (LGUs) and stakeholders, showcased new and emerging technologies for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and governance. Among which included Bantay Panahon and Project SIGNAL, Barangay Infosystem for Development and Accountability or BIDA, HazardHunterPH, Locally Accessible Cloud Systems (LACS), Barangay e-Systems and Tools (BeST), Smarter Approaches to Reinvigorate Agriculture as an Industry in the Philippines or SARAI, and FISH-I Inc.
Six (6) notable speakers were present to discuss the aforementioned technologies, namely: Mr. Christian James C. Jandayran, Head of DRRMO-DOST VI; Mr. Garry T. Balinon, Head of ICTO-DOST VI; Mr. Nicole Jean L. Mercado, Science Research Specialist I of DOST-PHIVOLCS; Mr. Jeffrey N. Llanto, Co-Founder and Executive Director of CVISNET Foundation, Inc.; Mr. Leo Neil T. Viado, Project Technical Officer of Project SARAI – UP Los Baños, and Mr. Justine Carlos C. Doctolero, Project Development Officer – Fish-I, UP-Diliman.
The said activity continued in the afternoon with topics on the Smart and Sustainable Solutions for Industry.
